Industrial engineer, surfer, mother, and cyber security professional at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ
Elcin is passionate about protecting the world from hackers. As a member of our Chief Information Security Office team, she loves having a job where she’s defending her company, her family, friends and neighbors, and society as a whole from criminals trying to do them serious harm – and as our Switzerland lead for the Women in Tech network, she’s also passionate about connecting and supporting others and helping us build the best team possible. Read what she has to say about her role.
I’m an industrial engineer, but after taking a training in ethical hacking more than 15 years ago, I fell in love with cyber security and wanted to protect the world from hackers. I’ve been at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ for more than five years as part of our global Cyber and Information Security Services team.
It’s no secret that gender diversity is a general issue in technology, and the cyber security field is no exception. But I passionately believe that this is a field where diversity overall is hugely important. We need all kinds of different people in cyber defence roles, because the threat actors and hackers who are out there come from every kind of background and experience you can imagine. The more diversity we have across the people defending our networks, then the greater chance we have to be successful.
